First Annual Christmas Party

FW Post 688 had its first annual Christmas Party December 12, 2017. The Original Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ treated us to an amazing meal. Thank you!

We recognized Officer Rebecca Foley of the Boerne Police Department as the VFW Officer of the Year.

We recognized Dave Parent because he has volunteered many hours assisting our Post with the largest Veterans Day fundraiser concert we have ever had and because he assisted with Toyota of Boerne’s Turkeys For Troops. He’s a Veteran of The U.S. Army!

We recognized The Roundup Outdoor Music Venue for their incredible support by hosting a Veterans Day concert fundraiser for us. As the second oldest VFW Post in Texas our goal is to one day have our own VFW Hall so we can better serve Veterans. We love The Roundup Outdoor Music Venue, Bergheim, Texas!

We recognized Doug Dodson who piloted the lead aircraft in our first ever Veterans Day Ceremony flyover at Veterans Plaza.

It was a great Christmas Party. We are truly thankful for all the community support.

We had a Christmas sweater competition and several awards were passed out for the awesome sweaters. The male Post member who won, Jim Hinton, earned bonus points for wearing a female Christmas sweater. Well played sir!

We were visited by Boerne Police Chief Jim Kohler. We greatly appreciate the Boerne Police Department. Back the blue!

We collected many toys for needy children of Kendall County for the KCSO toy drive.

Merry Christmas everyone and thank you for your continued support of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 688!
